Bowled over

Hi

I took ownership of a very special bowl this week, it's a wool bowl with holes and slits to feed your yarn through. When you are working, the ball of yarn jumps around inside the bowl gently unwinding, rather than leaping off the sofa and heading off across the floor. So I will have to find other methods of getting my daily exercise.

It is part of a special commission for the Tuesday crochet&chat/stitch&bitch group that I go to on a Tuesday evening. The group meets in the shop next door to the pottery studio of Stuart Broadhurst, better known for his teapots. And I feel very privileged to own one.

On the crafting front I have added more waves to my blanket (sorry no photo as it is too dark now), and have the swatch samples ready and waiting for the class on Thursday.

Bye for now.

    1. Hi. Yes I've been using the bowl this evening. I used to have a pink plastic oval bowl with a slit in the lid in the 1970s, but this is more sophisticated.

  2. The bowl is beautiful! I've been looking at some online and wondering if they really do work...and I love the lacy crochet techniques, very pretty! Chrissie x

    1. Hi, yes they really do work. I was using it on Sunday on my table and again this evening on the floor while I sat on the sofa. I hope my students like the samples.

    1. Yes it does work well. I don't know how it happens but if a ball of yarn leaps off my sofa it usually travels to the furthest corner of the room, or more bizarrely under the sofa. I think it will be a wise investment.
