Is it really the end of summer :-(

Just realised its officially the end of summer, so I decided to take a walk round my garden and record some of my flowers, before I have to clear the flower beds.

Have you ever seen a branch as full as this one with plums?

These apples are Egremont Russets, my favourite. Could be one of the reasons I bought my house.

Garden going to look rather dull without these geraniums.

Hope the sun is shining wherever you are.

Stash buster

One of the things that became evident during my tidy up was that I had a large bag of bits of wool so I decided to make something with them.

It's a large crochet basket.

I tied all my bits together and then crochet in dc, using two threads, one white, the other my coloured ball of bits.  Still to finish off, but it will be grand for organising  my latest WIP.

Thank you to my friend Lisa for the idea.

Saturday Shopping

Had a productive shopping foraging trip on Saturday.

This is my haul

A glass vase and 8 plastic knitting needles which I've turned into crochet flowers

3 lots of cotton fabric.

2 hand embroidered linens

1 stitch counter, and 1 Tunisian crochet hook.

A willow table which I started to paint white before I went to bed. It was too dark to take photos last night.

Didn't I do well?

Hope your bank holiday weekend is productive. Off to a craft fair with my mother today.

Singer little poncho

Happy Thursday, stayed up late last night putting a fringe on a child's poncho I've been asked to make. I'm quite pleased with it.

I also found this box at a car boot the other weekend.

It's a buttonhole maker for an old fashioned Singer sewing machine. Going to have fun trying to work out how it works. I've looked on YouTube and have an idea what it is supposed to do.

Will let you know if I get it to work.

Hope you are having a good week.

Phew, spring cleaning in the height of summer!!

The sun is out and where am I? Stuck in the house but needed to sort out my craft supplies.

Enter stage left, my sister who is going to organise me.

Piles of stuff everywhere.

Buttons galore.

Nice and tidy.

Thank you little sis. By the way her blog could do with a little blog lovin. If you've not checked it out yet, give it a whirl. She is just finding her feet in the world of blog. Jessie's red book of recipes.

Hot off the press

Hi folks, sorry I've been missing but life suddenly got complicated.

As well as working full time in an office job, I've taken the opportunity to take an additional job tutoring adults in crafts. Starting in September I'm running a 5 week course in the evenings for beginners crochet; and next year two one day workshops; EPP and fabric corsages. This has involved designing the courses, schemes of work, lesson plans, samples, patterns, etc.

So I've not had any time to blog though I've been keeping an eyes on your blogs.

Back to normal service - crafty Friday with Sue at Sweetpea Family.  Unusual pattern but like very much. I'm tempted to make some more.

Still got stuff to set up but not as maniac now, so promise to be more consistent with my blogs.

Crafty Friday

This is my 'show and tell' for this week. This was from issue 24 of Mollie Makes.

Not impressed with mine, I think it looks a bit lopsided, but I've learnt how to add a purse clasp.

Hope you have a great weekend.
