Freestyle crochet

Have you heard of freestyle crochet?

It's where you let your hook and fingers work in an absentminded way, crocheting what you feel like without a pattern, colour scheme, or idea.  Using different materials to see how they crochet up. When you have finished take a creative look.

Sometimes it looks like this - fun to do but what is it?

Why not give it a go - it's very liberating.

Happy Monday.

  1. That sounds very interesting! I haven't tried it before but I like the sound of it.

    1. Hi Jennifer - yes give it a go. Put some music on and let your imagination flow. Sort out some different weight yarns and other things you can crochet. Love to see what you come up with.

  2. Could be a great way to test out stitches or clusters without committing to a full project...chrissie x

    1. Hi Chrissie - it's a good one for a Worksop. Whip up some samples first. Great for using up left over bits from other projects.

  4. Welcome, Hippystitch to my blog. Thank you for becoming my newest follower. Like your log too. Wish I lived nearer as would love to see your yarn bombing event. Perhaps some freestyle crochet will be incorporated.
