Happy Thursday, stayed up late last night putting a fringe on a child's poncho I've been asked to make. I'm quite pleased with it.
I also found this box at a car boot the other weekend.
It's a buttonhole maker for an old fashioned Singer sewing machine. Going to have fun trying to work out how it works. I've looked on YouTube and have an idea what it is supposed to do.
Will let you know if I get it to work.
Hope you are having a good week.

It's only 20 rows and I'd already done 9 of them. Perhaps it looks bigger in the photo.

That is an amazing poncho - some little girl is going to be delighted to wear it!
ReplyDeleteI wish you the best with the buttonhole maker - looks a bit complicated to me but I'm sure you'll work it out!

I'm going to do a search online for the instructions. The lady I bought it from said it belong to her mother and was never used. I hope the little girl likes the poncho.

Love the poncho! So sweet and colourful.

Thank you. It was a delight to make. Sorting out my wool on Monday made a difference as everything I needed was in one place.

Your poncho is fab sure the little girl will love it. I must have a try at one for my daughter. Love the singer machine too xx
ReplyDeleteThe sewing machine belonged to my Grandmother. It's still in good working order. It's been well used, I remember my mother making clothes for my sister and I, and also for herself. Xx
DeleteHave you managed to get the button hole maker to work? I have a Singer machine just like the one you have shown. It came from my mother in law and as I don't do much sewing it is used for the occasional task.

Hi Sarah, no not had time to test it yet, but if I do I will post about it. I find it easier to use it than the electric one. I love the smell when I open it up and though I've not tried it as no sturdy table outside, I could use it in the garden on a warm day. It's good to hear that you use yours.
